We work together in person as much as possible, primarily in Dublin and London, with a hybrid setup in those locations. Proximity matters when you’re still shaping the core of a system: strategically, technically, and culturally. What does 'founding' mean?

Being a founding employee isnʼt a title, itʼs a way of working.
  • You want to directly contribute, in every single thing you do, to the growth of the company.
  • Identifying reversible/irreversible decisions is a walk in the park for you.
  • You're impatient to advance and get shit done!
  • Asking for forgiveness, not permission to push forward, is your second nature.
  • You think the phrase 'bias for action' is BS because what other way could there be?
  • Team members who manage the clock disgust you.
  • Excuses for not delivering frustrate the shit out of you.
  • If, for some reason, you can't build or design when you're awake, you're at least thinking about what you will build/design when you can.
  • You'll never be satisfied with what you're building/designing/operating until it impacts the lives of millions of people.
  • You've got a healthy ego – you know you're shit hot, but you'd prefer not to broadcast it in case someone thinks you're full of yourself.

Can I work remote?

We work hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.

Some things move faster in person, collaboration, decision-making, and momentum matter at this stage and right now itʼs all about building Grand together.

The 2 days working from home are for shard focussed work. If “working from home” means being checked out, this wonʼt be a fit.

It is at your managers discretion to deviate from 3 days in office.

Will I have a team?

You may or may not, it depends on the role. Either way, you should assume youʼll be hands-on and owning your area end-to-end. Founding roles at Grand are about doing the work, not managing it from a distance.

Youʼll be expected to define how things work, set the bar, and build the foundations yourself. If and when a team forms, youʼll help shape and hire it. Leadership here is earned through doing, not through titles.

Do I get equity?

All founding roles come with equity in some form of incentive package once a cliff has been passed. We believe the people building the company should own part of it.

The exact allocation depends on role, seniority, and timing, and weʼll do our best to talk you through the details transparently during the process, including how the ESOP works and what ownership could mean over time.

How are you funded?

Weʼre venture-backed and well-capitalised by 20VC, NAP (formerly Cavalry Ventures) and Firedrop, and founders capital.

Our investors understand that the trade economy is massive, complex, and underserved — and that building real infrastructure takes focus, patience, and ambition. Weʼre funded to build for the long term, not to chase short-term hype.

Will I get to do research?

Youʼll speak to real users, in real environments, about real problems. That might mean interviews, site visits, shadowing workflows, or standing outside a merchant talking to customers.

That work doesnʼt disappear into a drawer. It directly shapes product decisions, and, where it matters, becomes clear, opinionated research we publish as white papers, insight reports, and public-facing analysis from Grand.
